I never expected to become a caregiver advocate, but after my son suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and spent more than 90 days in the hospital, I found myself navigating a world of specialists, therapies, surgeries, insurance, IEPs, Medicaid, and countless appointments. Along the way, I realized that families don’t just need information—they need someone who understands what it’s actually like to live it.
Since then, I’ve dedicated my time to supporting other caregivers through advocacy, resource navigation, education, and sharing practical tools that help lighten the mental load. I serve on my children’s hospital’s Family Advisory Board and Patient & Family Centered Care Committee, volunteer as a family advocate, and am building Carry Less, a platform designed to help caregivers feel more prepared, organized, and supported.
I believe the best support comes from meeting families where they are, listening first, and helping them take the next right step. My goal is simple: to help caregivers carry a little less, without ever making them feel like they have to carry it alone.
